Find missing technical details before estimating; draft a clarification note.
Before you start
This free self-check is a starting point. Review its result before making a business decision.
Tool limits and data use
Results depend on your inputs and are not professional, technical, legal or financial advice. Most answers stay in your browser; a public URL checker sends the URL to JBM for a bounded page fetch. JBM records your terms and privacy acknowledgment. Check important conclusions with a qualified person.
If enabled, JBM counts this tool start and one coded result category; imported rows are not sent through that counter.
Turn a vague RFQ into a grouped clarification request and an editable intake sheet. This is not engineering approval or a supplier-fit verdict.
How to qualify an RFQ for estimation
Enter the details you have. The result groups missing questions for estimator, engineering and quality review and creates an editable intake sheet. All answers stay in your browser.
Worked example
If a drawing is marked available but no revision is supplied, ask for the controlling revision before committing to a tolerance or lead time.
Questions buyers and teams ask
Does this approve a job for quoting?
No. It surfaces missing information and contradictions; your team decides feasibility and terms.
Can I send the draft unchanged?
Review and edit it first so the buyer receives only relevant questions.
Are our RFQ details stored by JBM?
No. These answers remain in this browser unless you choose to copy them into an enquiry.
Method reviewed 27 September 2026. Ask JBM to review the actual problem.
What this tool can tell you
Site usage statistics appear only after enough completed checks have accumulated. Until then, these cards explain how to use the result.
No fit verdict
A complete request does not prove process, capacity or supplier fit.
Control the drawing
A drawing revision can change the estimate and acceptance criteria.
Ask by function
Estimator, engineering and quality questions need different owners.
Date check
A past delivery date should be clarified before promising a lead time.
Useful artifact
Edit the clarification email before sending it to a buyer.

What makes an RFQ ready to estimate?
Start with the part, process, material, quantity and drawings. Then confirm tolerances, required standards, delivery date and the application. The checker flags missing fields and gives you an editable clarification email. A complete form still needs an engineer or estimator to confirm capability and fit.
Common questions
Does a high score mean we should quote?
No. The score only counts supplied information; it cannot verify whether your machines, capacity or certifications match the job.
Are our RFQ details uploaded?
No. The checker runs in your browser and does not submit your entries to JBM.
What to do with your result
Use the result to ask a better question, verify the numbers with your team and decide what needs fixing first. If you want JBM to help examine the path from discovery to qualified demand, share the problem.
